niks, believe me that if you go back to smoking, you will NOT lose the weight. I know it's hard, but it's normal to put on a few pounds. Yes, you do have to work harder to keep it off, but there comes a time (some say around 6 months) that the weight gain tapers. Some people only gain a couple of pounds. You might search around for some healthy eating sites and you might also increase your exercise. My doctor told me that it was better that I gained a few pounds than if I went back to smoking. I'm sure that's true for you as well. I may be chunky, but I don't smell nasty! lol Good luck!
