Hi Ann - I too have gained since I quit. Actually, I had gained some of it before I quit. I'm exercising again, but it seems harder with the extra weight.
I have disproved my crazy theory that smoking kept me slim. During the 25 years I smoked, there were only short periods where I was in really good shape - and that was with a lot of hard work and exericise.
I lost 25 pounds with weight watchers 3 years ago, after I quit smoking the 1st time. I kept it off all this time. 15 working towards 20 are back on, in no time.
But I wouldn't trade these pounds for a cigarette, that's for sure. I'd rather be like this than smoking.
When you decide it's the right time, you'll know. Just like quitting smoking - the concept has to "click", and then you'll get going.
