Hi Ann, when I quit my doctor said I needed to exercise to reduce my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. But I have never been athletic and would really much prefer to sit at the computer all day. I did start walking (as Shevie suggested to you) and grew to like it. However I got bored with it all the time,so I have tried different things...dvds, tai chi, weights, swimming, water aerobics, machines at the Y, classes. I have narrowed it all down to the things I enjoy. I still don't do it regularly enough, but I now know that tai chi doesn't interest me in the least and I hate the machines at the Y. So I'm back to walking and doing water aerobics. I also love my dvds on hot or rainy days.
If exercising is something you want to do, I suggest trying a variety of different things until you find what you like and what fits with your lifestyle.
Rusty :)
