Hey Anne I too have been there and done what you're doing but have in the last couple of days decided to change. Noone else can do it for you. what i decided was to find something that would get me fit but it had to be fun.....so I have purchased an instructional bellydancing Dvd. that way i can burn fat from the comfort of my own house! we'll see how i go...and u know what no more getting myself upset about putting on weight...if this doesnt work I'll just try soemthing else.. the minute you decide to change your attitude about it to a more positive one...the better you'll start to feel..... i remember reading a post a few days back that snapped me outta it.....acknowledge the negative but dwell on the positive......it did something for me! u can do anything if you put your mind to it, you gave up smoking so you can do anything! :)

Hi, Ann. I understand about the "no motivation" thing. Been there myself. Try starting small. Take a short walk. Not so much for the exercise, but just to get out for a change of scenery. You don't have to walk fast or far or get your heart rate up. Just get out to appreciate all the life that is around you. Congratulations on 47 days quit, Ann. Hi Ann, when I quit my doctor said I needed to exercise to reduce my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. But I have never been athletic and would really much prefer to sit at the computer all day. I did start walking (as Shevie suggested to you) and grew to like it. However I got bored with it all the time,so I have tried different things...dvds, tai chi, weights, swimming, water aerobics, machines at the Y, classes. I have narrowed it all down to the things I enjoy. I still don't do it regularly enough, but I now know that tai chi doesn't interest me in the least and I hate the machines at the Y. So I'm back to walking and doing water aerobics. I also love my dvds on hot or rainy days. If exercising is something you want to do, I suggest trying a variety of different things until you find what you like and what fits with your lifestyle. Ann, You have received some great advice from the members. Take what you need and keep it close. It is important to protect your quit and do what it takes! Exercise or activities are a great way to help with weight as well as it is useful for distraction from those craves.
