Posting my weight does not bother me. I didn't know if it would bother others or not. Personally I look at it like this ... I had to come out of denial that smoking was killing me before I could truly commit to my quit. Same with weight loss. But I don't know if others are comfortable with that. If they are then I would say sure ... let's do it that way. So we would post like this: 135/131 4x 1200 cal? (Basically meaning I'm 135 pds, I want to loose 4 pds this week, working out 4 times and eating 1200 cal a day? Yes, no? Ok ... so the SSC Waist Watchers we are! It's official! I don't know if anyone would be interested, but I figured it would be worth a try. Holding each other accountable seems to be a big help in staying quit ... so I thought if we weighed in ... that may be a big incentive in us exercising, eating right, etc. and losing weight or not gaining weight. We'd basically weigh in once a week ... the goal being 'not to gain' or to 'lose weight'. If anyone is interested in helping to support each other in this fashion like we do with staying quit ... please post and sign up. So far we have: Breaking Free Mr Ed Penitent Mama smokingsux NascarFan I would suggest our weigh in day should be a weekday as the SSC seems a little slower on the weekends and what not. What do you think? On our weigh in day I suggest we post our goal, example: I plan on loosing 4 pounds this week by going to the gym 4 times for one hour each visit and by eating 1200 calories a day. What do you guys think? Then on our next weigh in day we will quote ourselves and see how we did. Then we will post our new goal for the week. Any ideas? I figure we could call ourselves The SSC Weight Watchers ... unless you guys want to come up with something else for our title. Let me know. Why don't we post a WEEKLY WEIGH-IN/GOALS Thread with all the goals /weights of each member ? You can post it on Friday? Or I can if I don't see it in the morning and everyone can talk about their goals for the next week and what they want to lose and those who have weighed in can talk about their gain/loss/maintainance. Mama, I am happy to see that you are a WW and a SSC member. I am too. I weigh-in on Thursdays but I can't tomorrow because I have a doctor appt. I guess we can do a thread on how much we lost/gained. I don't think it is necessary that we show our weight or even our BMI, just the gains and the losses. Of course, if you want to show your weight, I suppose that would be fine also. I suppose that Breaking could start a thread each week so we can post our losses/gains. Perhaps we can discuss how we did and what happened that we lost/gained weight. Or maybe it does not have to be about loss/gain but just maintaining. I personally want to lose weight, but maybe some ppl just want to keep their weight off. I think it is a great idea. Nascar, My weight has always been an issue and it was one of the reasons I didn't want to quit smoking. But now I know better. Smoking keeps me from being active. I can work out longer and harder now. I can feel freer. So, I guess we will be accountable for our weight and not smoking. I love this idea. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 332 Amount Saved: $56 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 41 Seconds: 57

Breaking, Count me in !!!! This is a fantastic idea! I am a member of WW so you know I already get weighed-in every week!!!! This is my main concern with quitting smoking ! I think SSC WW is a great idea but maybe Weight Watchers is copyrighted or something ... maybe we can be the Waist Watchers. lol My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/15/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 331 Amount Saved: $56 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 38 Seconds: 47
