Medication should only be prescribed by a doctor, and Seroquel is a very powerful drug, so consult your doctor before taking any medication.

Well I've been taking for a week and my sleep is getting a little better. I am taking 100mg pills and i only have a couple left because i got them given to me from a friend. And when i go to the doctor I'm gonna see if i can get Seroquel. But lately I have noticed that I have been getting angry much easier and sometimes for no reason. But i can control it a bit and not get angry at people but sometimes I do. I'm not sure what i should do. If I should keep taking it or if there is another thing that I can try.

Seroquel has a sedative effect, that's why you felt that way. Maybe you felt better because you were able to sleep.

I got some 100mg seroquel last night and I cut one in half and took it. And it made me really tired. And i was able to go to sleep UT an hour after I took it but I still woke up a few hours after but was able to go back to sleep after a couple minutes. This morning I still felt really tired but I actually felt better. I was able to concentrate, I didnt have any bad thoughts or thinking about what makes me feel sad so would that be from the seroquel or did I just have a pretty good day?

Well i have a doctor appointment on may 22. I'm hoping that it will help. That's the earliest I can get because we only have one full time doctor. And I'm not sure if my town has a psychologist. Is it possible that the hospital might have a number for a psychologist? And i dont like talking about what is making me depressed it brings back bad memories that is why I'd prefer to get something from the doctor till I feel comfortable enough to talk to someone. And today I haven't been feeling to good. Wasn't a very good day. But for the past few days I was feeling pretty alright. Was confused why i was feeling like that cause nothing good happened. And to help with my sleep i have some sleeping pills but they aren't doing anything. I got a different kind today and I'm gonna try it. I'm hoping something will work. But im just waiting to go to the doctor. I'll probably comment here saying what the doctor said. But thanks for the reply. I appreciate everything you guys have to say.

Welcome Richard1994,

Seeing a doctor is a good idea. You may also want to book an appointment with a psychologist. Doctors are not as highly trained in mental health issues as psychologists. Doctors normally will just prescribe you medication if they feel you are depressed. A psychologist will likely give you a complete assessment (this could be costly if you do not have coverage) and then provide you with psychotherapy or another form of treatment. In the mean time, working on the program can likely benefit you. In my oppinion, anyone can benefit from working this program whether you are diagnosed with depression or not. What do you think?

How are you doing today?

I can talk only about my personal experience but I think you are right. Depression goes and comes back, but with practice we could make life more manageable so that the good times surpass the bad ones. Even when people are not depresses there are good and bad days too! I had some sleep problems due to depression and anxiety, still have but they are not so huge as in the past. Feel free to ask any questions you have.

Well im reading on what the site says about what depression is and everything and I have many of the symptoms. And i also read and if i understood it correctly that the feeling of depression goes away for a bit then it can come back? If it does then would that be why I have times that I feel somewhat better and feel like I have more energy than usual? But i still can't sleep through the night. I constantly wake up still. I never thought that I had depression until recently. But im still waiting to see a doctor to make sure. So i might be asking some questions if there are things I don't understand.

Hi Richard,
It is a good option for you to consult your doctor.
If you think you have depression you could also try the cognitive behavioral therapy program that it is included on this site.

Hello, my name is Richard. I'm new to the site and im not sure if this is the correct place to post on but I would like to talk to someone that might have some advice on what I should do. And i an wondering if i may be just really sad or depressed. I have had something happen a little more than a year ago which hurt me a lot but since then I haven't been getting much sleep. I wake up constantly, taking melatonin to help me sleep doesn't help. If anything g it makes me wake up more frequent and i have been getting frustrated easier and a few other things. I have taken online test to see if it's depression or just being sad and all the ones I took said I had moderate to severe depression and high anxiety. I'd just like to know if i should go to the doctor and see what they have to say. I also feel exhausted sometimes and it is affecting my work. Thank you. If I need to say any more info I can.
