KrissyRN, That sounds like a great plan. I'm just starting today so I have to check out all of the tools and such. It looks like weasel hasn't posted to this thread for a while, but weasel, let us know how its going. It sounds like things are getting better.

Weasel, I sometimes set three goals. (I learned this in therapy.) I'd set one that related to what I was learning in therapy. ex.) this week, I will recognize what emotions I am feeling. the 2nd one would be something that I had to do that week. ex.) this week, I will wash 7 forks so I don't have to eat with my hands. (don't laugh...that was an actual goal for me at one point.) and THEN, I'd have to set a "fun" goal...something that would be fun, or used to be fun. ex.) this week, I will sit outside and watch the birds at the birdfeeder. So, to sum up: 1. Learn 2. Task 3. Fun I always made them really really small so they were easy to acheive. Anything else I did above and beyond that was a bonus. yay for me! It feels nice to know that you went above and beyond your goal..or even that you got to your goal. Don't worry, you'll get there...and I still have days where I fall back on this. It's the skills. :)

Hi weasel, It is great to hear from you! Fantastic news that you are seeing some improvement with how you have been feeling. Regarding your question, there really isn't a right or wrong way to do this. The important thing is that it is what works for you the best -whatever you feel would be most beneficial to you. Be sure to keep us posted, Casey _______________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team

had a go at this for a couple of weeks now. most of my treatment plan elements are ongoing things that i need to keep doing over again, for instance brushing my teeth twice a day and taking some small regular exercise. i'm managing to do them about half as often as i need to. should i be setting one off elements to my treatment plans as well?

ok. i decided to start very small for this week to see if i can do it. i'm going to work on taking more care over my appearance and personal care. lately i've been turning up at work with three days stubble on my face in clothes that i've picked out because they're passably clean. so i'm going to try and spend some time making sure i address this every day. it took me an hour to dress thismorning though, so i'm not sure what's going to happen. is it ok just to work on something this trivial for a week just to see if i can do it?

Weasel, There's no way you can be over ambitious but I do recommend breaking down your ultimate goal into mini-goals so that it doesn't seem more daunting. Start with accomplishing something small and work you're way up to bigger tasks. Take your time, plan well and let us know if you need some more help. am thinking about treatment goals. have realised how little i take care of myself. all seems a bit daunting. the things i want to do seem so difficult. i don't want to be over ambitious. how far am i supposed to get with this in a week? even sitting down and trying to concentrate on making a plan is hard. there are so many things i need to be doing that i'm not managing right now. help.
