Weasel, I sometimes set three goals. (I learned this in therapy.)
I'd set one that related to what I was learning in therapy.
ex.) this week, I will recognize what emotions I am feeling.
the 2nd one would be something that I had to do that week.
ex.) this week, I will wash 7 forks so I don't have to eat with my hands. (don't laugh...that was an actual goal for me at one point.)
and THEN, I'd have to set a "fun" goal...something that would be fun, or used to be fun.
ex.) this week, I will sit outside and watch the birds at the birdfeeder.
So, to sum up:
1. Learn
2. Task
3. Fun
I always made them really really small so they were easy to acheive. Anything else I did above and beyond that was a bonus. yay for me! It feels nice to know that you went above and beyond your goal..or even that you got to your goal.
Don't worry, you'll get there...and I still have days where I fall back on this. It's the skills. :)
