Good morning everyone: Yes, a good productive day sure feels good. Even those who don't live with anxiety and stress feel good after a productive day. Like my Dad used to say: "moderation in all things". I guess that can be for just about anything, food, alcohol, and on-line, lol. Nowadays we call it balance. Having a balanced life.
As for the tomatoes ripening. Veggies and fruit emit ethylene gas when ripening, so wrapped up and trapped in a bag allows that gas to ripen them faster.
I'm also going to be putting a limit on my online time. If I'm doing something productive like working on my anxiety issues with the panic program or doing something related to my photography I'm okay with it, but it's all the time I waste browsing sites I can definitely cut back on. When I do too much of that I do start to feel frustrated and anxious that I'm not being productive. Good luck with cutting back on your internet time!
I like your attitude too! I pretty much did the same thing you did today. I cleaned the house from top to bottom and had a very productive day. I feel a lot better when I am doing something that has some structure and some direction to go in.
Something with a being and a end. Job well do and finished kind of thing. I have decided that I spend way to much time on line and will be putting limits on myself in this regard. I really think this will help me with my anxiety. I really feel a lot better when I am doing more things that require me to use both my mind and body together and this is not possible to do if I am on line most of the day. I am considering having my internet service cut off if I can not get a handle on the amount of time I am on line. If I do that I guess I will just have to go to Star Bucks. They have one at Barnes and noble that has free Wi Fi. I can also get access at the library on one of their computers if I needed to. We will see. All in all I had a really good and productive day. I am glad to hear you had a good and productive day also. It sure does feel good doesn't it!!!!
Red - I like the attitude! I said the same thing last night about today, so I made a list of things I've been putting them off and got them done one by one as the day went by. Mostly just chores around the house and exercises and mediations to help with anxiety, so nothing was too challenging in terms of anxiety but it still felt good to be productive. What did you accomplish?
I am not feeling to chit chatty today and am really kind of bored. Its time to take action. I am going to do something productive and positive today. Thats my goal and plan for today. To make so progress.
I used 3 of those lunch sized brown paper bags( I've had them so long its good to use them up).
I put around 5 in each and closed the bag up tight. I was going to ask you if they ripened so much quicker because of no air flow? I don't now. I put the remaining 15 or so in the colander on the counter, but today I took the ripened ones to work and gave them away, and put the other ones in the bags. I only have 3 tomatoe plants..1 Roma, 1 Beefsteak, 1 Regular. Who knew I'd get so many of them? Wow! I only have two 4x8 raised beds. I got 1 green pepper! ha! tons of zuchinni, lettuce, onions, peas, but the pumpkin isn't looking so hot either. Oh well... For first time at it I'm happy.
You're on Chapter 2 already?! Fabulous! I can't wait to read what you've got....are you going to give us a little preview? I'm so glad you're having fun with it..if anyone can do this ...you can!
Wow that was quick, I wonder if it is because the bag holds in the gasses needed to ripen. I will try it. The trick will be remembering they are in it. I think that may be why I use the colander, that and the amount I have to deal with. I have a large green house so no shortage of ripe tomatoes. My problem comes in the fall when I have baskets of green ones. How many do you think I could put in a bag, and did you close the bag or leave it open. I could get my groceries in bags so I had them.
I started the book and you are in it already on chapter two and at 1500 words I have said hardly anything. I never realized how much information there is or how much it is all tied together. For something as simple as changing negative to positive there is a lot of work. I'm having fun though and I will be searching the forums for quotes and humour to keep it light and flowing because I have to realize the people it will help the most will have poor concentration because of anxiety and panic. It is not going to be a work of art or a best seller, all I want to do is get the information across as simply as possible and keep it in as readable a form as possible. It will get long though I think as each piece of information will tie into the one before and I will have to explain how this works. I will try to keep it light so it doesn't bore the people that have been there and done that. It may not even go anywhere, but there is a lot to the saying, "busy mind, happy mind".
