Aha, it's not a dumb question at all. I'm not sure how to explain it, if you have a hawaiin food place near you, go there and ask for the macaroni salad. It's basically noodles, mayonnaise, tuna, eggs and garlic salt...well thats the recipe I know. Mixed correctly = instant satisfaction for me. I love the stuff!
I think one of the causes of my original panic attacks was caffeine. One of my doctors told me that if you have too much caffeine, its almost the same sensation as a panic attack. I havent been able to have coffee since then. I love the smell of it. I drink decaf tea mostly now, tho I do love my Soy Chai latte from starbucks, my one vice:)
I eat a lot of little meals. I try avoid a lot of sugar. My sister gave me this book called "Meals for Good Health", Its written by Karen Graham, who is a certified Diabetes Educator. I dont have Diabetes but my sister was diagnosed with type 1 last year. It tells you the right portion sizes and has lots of good eating tips. For breakfast I have oats or some hot cereals, that have no sugar in them, only good stuff, I sometimes have plain yoghurt as one huge tub has as much sugar as one of those little sweet ones does, and I put fruits in it, and sprinkle ground flax over it, very good. I try to eat fruits during the day, and proteins, Not too much cookies or chips, tho I do crave them once in a while, and I tend to bake a lot. I think a big breakfast helps too, then you are not too hungry later in the day. Also for me drinking a lot of water, and no cola/pop like coke, or diet coke or any pop.. I have tried to cut down as i love coke (the original). There is loads of sugar in that. I find nuts like almonds help a lot, they are very good for you, and they are a good snack if you feel hungry...now that i've rambled:) hehe
Coffee has always made me jerky and ever since the last time I drank coffee, I had a panic attack so I am afraid to drink it now. Any caffine drinks. But I looooooove chocolate and sweets but they get me nauseaous a lot too. And chamomile I like too.
It is true, eating 5-6 small meals a day is really good for you, as long as they are 'small'! I think the point is to eat a good breakfast, have a small smack, like a fruit, have lunch, another snack in the afternoon, a yogurt perhaps, and then a good dinner. It does seem like a lot of food though...does anybody here eat 5-6 meals a day?
It makes me on edge, and it feels as though I've become allergic to it.
But yes, smaller, frequent meals are said to be much better for stabalising anyone's blood sugar levels. I was told to eat 5-6 small meals per day, in order to keep my blood sugar regulated.
But who actually has time to make that amount of food?!
