Hi:  Sorry to say didn't take a single pic.  I've been across Canada several times so have pics from before.  I've travelled a lot in my life and I do love it.  Thanks for the welcome back.

I feel real bad that on top of all she has to do I am so sore I am almost useless. I dragged myself out of the chair to make supper and got most of it ready before I had to sit and take Gravol. So much I want to do but with the withdrawal it is almost impossible. I'm always saying patience but not always listening to myself. Things will get better.

I never got to even sit in the truck before she took it back. I'm just so glad she is finally here. So many things can be mistaken in an Email.

When I am better I will make it up to her. She really is an Angel.

Hello everyone:  As you know from Davit's posts, I am finally here!  I have experienced so many things, don't know where to start.

Anxiety?  no, not much, excitement, loads!  I did have some moments of stress before the driving started out from Ontario to B.C.  Mostly getting the house ready for sale and having people come and look while I was packing.  Doing both at the same time wore me out.  I had to remember to prioritize - I had to sort a lot of material possessions.  What did my daughters want, what did my son want? before giving things away or selling.  Once I had that sort of figured out, I could move on to packing only those things which I wanted/needed.  I was ruthless, that was very difficult emotionally speaking.  I had to let go of some antique things which I have been collecting, and other things too.  In the long run, it's just stuff, isn't it?
This is where I relied on my good positive attitude and knew that things don't make a person nor a happy home.  One thing though that I still have a little twinge over are my books.  I left a lot of art books and others.  I had a pretty good little library which I had enjoyed over the years.  Oh well, there's a library here and I look forward to using it.

The drive itself was awesome.  I loved every tree, every blade of grass we saw.  A good friend drove the truck with me up to Edmonton.  I spent a few days with my son and family.  My friend flew back home, then headed out from Edmonton to here, about 6 hr. drive.  Luckily the weather was beautiful and the truck easy to drive.  See?  i always wanted to drive a truck, and there you are, never too old to get to do something on your list.  I really did enjoy every bit.

When the truck was loaded it was pouring rain, when we unloaded at this end, rain again. Kind of funny that.

I was worried about how my dog would do on this long 4-day trip to Edmonton.  She was as good as gold.  My friend who drove the truck said he thought she was the best behaved dog he had ever seen.  Even in the motel room, she only barked once, shushed her the once, and she was quiet.  Needless to say she feels a little lost right now and I am helping her to adjust.  This morning I took her for a walk along the first pond, the path where some of the bears come down, her hackles went right up and didn't want to go there, but without saying anything and letting her take her time, she was o.k.

As for Davit's two cats, that's a bit stressful still.  She listens fairly well with a "STAY" but really don't know how long this will last.  One day she just might want to go and see.  We have introduced them slowly, letting them sniff, etc. Davit had a door put up to divide two areas of the house, one for the cats and one for the dog.  hoping it won't be forever, but it is working well so far.

I'm very tired now.  Packing and unpacking, glad my root cuttings are all put into the ground for the winter.  I brought about 30 perennials and a lavender bush and a wigelia.  Could have brought more but was too tired to do any more, plus all this was done in the rain as it was very bad weather for a few days in Ontario.

I have a lot of catching up to do on posts.

bfn,
Sunny
