Welcome Barbara!

Glad you found us. You might want to introduce yourself in a thread just for you to ensure all the members here get a chance to meet you.

Whatever you decide to do glad to have you on board. Looking forward to reading more from you.

Welcome Barbara, glad to have you with us. Thanks, David! I will definitely pledge with you when I can. I've read some of your other posts and know your goal is abstinence. I am currently trying to abstain for a period of time but may attempt to moderate in the future, so I'll be honest with you with the days I plan to drink. I'm going to try to plan ahead and limit myself on those days (e.g. 1 glass of wine with dinner). Anyway, I hope that we can still stand strong together despite our different long term goals. I may eventually choose to abstain altogether as well.

Hello Barbara123, and welcome to AHC!

I am glad that you have joined us here, making a pledge to abstain from alcohol. It can be a battle of sorts sometimes as we all know, but as you yourself know it is "okay" to stay sober, even if only for one single day.

That is all you need to pledge to do for yourself today. Tomorrow is another day and tomorrow morning you can chose to do with it what you want. It's really that simple.

"One day at a time."

"One pledge at a time."

One success at a time."

Be well, and I hope to see you tomorrow,
David.

(PS: Regarding the time difference: I tend to be a night owl, so not to worry...)

I will join you, David.  I am a newbie, just signed up yesterday.  I made it yesterday without a drink, so I am pretty proud of myself for that accomplishment.  I'm nervous about going into my second evening though.  But, I am making the pledge to be strong.  I'm in a very different time zone, and am still early afternoon so the worst part of my day hasn't quite yet started.  It seems everything is hard in my life, and alcohol has been a great escape for a really long time.  It's a little scary to imagine life without it (I also have PTSD), but I think I am slowly killing myself with so much alcohol.  Thanks for sharing your stuff.

Hey, jojo64.

Kudos back at you for joining me here. I sure wish there were more of us here taking the pledge, but you and I can stand alone together in mutual support and see if any others do come by.

I know that I won't loose if I "KEEP COMING BACK!"

Be well,
David.

Good morning AHC.
My goal is to abstain from alcohol once again today. I was successful abstaining yesterday, and this did feel so good.

I extend my hand out to another member in the hopes that they will grab hold of it, and that as one we can pull together, becoming stronger, helping each other to fulfill our hopes and desires to recover from our alcohol abuse.

Be well,
David.

God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
