Good for you Carlos.  It sounds like it was a lengthy and tough crave yet you made it through!

Hi Carlos,

I didn't see this until now. just wanted to say  I'm proud of you for resisting the urge. getting through those tough scenarios is what trains us to use strategies and keep saying "no."

Hi Carlos - It's great for you to make it through that tough time without caving to the crave!  You made it safe and sound on the other side of the crave and likely had a great virtual ride behind the wheel(s) of those cars you were checking out!  Whoosh!  Thinking about 'hair straight back' and having fun : )  Good for you to get past those negative thoughts about your ex - it may be impossible to 'forget' about those things in your life that have changed forever, but you know (in rational times) that smoking won't fix what is bothering you no matter how stressed you feel!   Keep reading posts here, navigating the internet for cool things that catch your eye, driving cool cars on line - or maybe even go for an actual test drive whether you can afford to buy or not?)  and trying those stairs (a great idea by Jim!)  Ice water seems to help a lot of people too - maybe you could have some on hand at your office.  Keep up the great work Carlos!  NOPE works buddy!

There you go, Carlos!

The big secret is to do something to try to get your mind off smoking!  My first few months, I just hung out here and read and posted and read some more!  The topic always had something to do with smoking, but it was always about trying to avoid smoking.  It worked for me.  There's an enormous amount of good reading here in the Forums!

          Keep the Quit, buddy!

Hey Carlos!!!

Try some ice cold water!  My other favorite was walking stairs.  I used to rhythmically take a deep breath with every step.  Concentrate on each breath and think of some relaxing place while you are doing that.  Walking and deep breathing also helped when I was not near stairs!

Other than that, find some activity that will occupy your mind!  Distraction!!!

Hi friends.

For the first time in my 21 day quit, I am feeling some nasty cravings, drank some fanta zero, eat some bread sticks, walked around the office for 5 min, tried to concentrate on my job......but i still feel the need to lite one up....

Something to do with halloween or just because my ex (separated- no going back though) is going away for a long weekend........

I will take any pointers.........

Thanks...
