Triggers??

Wow...5...hmm...Ok, here goes:
 
1.  Coffee, especially in the morning.  So I started drinking tea instead.  Now I can drink coffee again.
 
2.  Stress.  That's a toughie.  But I started doing deep breathing as well as taking naps when time allowed.  At times, I gave myself permission to do as little as possible - if that's what I felt like doing at the time!
 
3.  Boredom.  Because it does happen from time to time.  My fav thing to do then was watch CSI, Law & Order, Criminal Minds...etc.  It helped, and nine times out of ten I'd sip green tea while I watched my favourite shows.  Sometimes it was marathon...if the cravings got bad.  But all this helped, it really did.
 
4.  After a meal.  Take the dog for a walk and delegate the dishes.  Brush my teeth, then count my cigarette savings!
 
5.  Socializing.  My hubby and I play darts on a Friday night.  Smoking in the building was banned a few years ago,  while I was still a smoker.  It was hard at first not to join my smoking buddies outside, but I stayed in and chatted with the non smokers.  And when the smokers came in...boy did they reek of smoke.  And of course, came the question we all asked..."Did I smell like that????"  Guess what -- you DID!  And so did I.  So happy to be a non smoker!
