I smoked my last cigarette approx. 22 months ago and as I was sitting here contemplating the situation I remember some of the reasons I couldn't continue on as a smoker. Smoking owned my life. I couldn't leave the house without an extra pack in my pocket for fear of running out. If I didn't have enough cigarettes to last my shift at work I wouldn't go to work. Seriously , when smoking was disallowed in the workplace I retired from my job rather than quit smoking. ( How sick is that ?) What I'm saying is that it didn't matter what the consequences were I was going to smoke anyway. I can remember running out one day and having to borrow 2 dollars to get a pack because I only had 11 dollars on me. If I was smarter I would have stopped a lot sooner. I was living for the addiction that was killing me if that makes any sense. For sure one cigarette is too many and a thousand cartons never enough. That's how it used to be but not how it is now. I've often thought about the people sitting outside the hospitals in their wheelchairs and their oxygen bottles in sub zero temperatures just to get some smoke in their lungs. That used to be my future but that's how it used to be and not how it is today. Cellophane wrapped pain in a nice package is more than I'm willing to endure. Of course that's how it used to be and not how it is. Thank you everyone for keeping me smoke free one more day. Excellent for you. breather
