Hi...I suffered with panic attacks for over 33 years now. After many years of suffering, I started using a relaxation tape. Along with the music, I would lie down in a darkened bedroom and use beathing exercises. I would breath in to the count of 4, hold to the count of 4 and exhale to the count of 4. Once I was breathing this way automatically, I would start repeating these words over and over "my mind is calm, my body relaxed". The first time I tried it, it took about 20 minutes to relax me, remember, I was having an attack at this time so was harder to concentrate. after 2 weeks of doing this, I could go lay down and start the process, soon as i got to the words, my mind is calm, my body automatically went into relaxed mode. After 2 weeks, anything becomes a habit. I had trained my body to relax and went panic free for 4 years. Then I started hanging around another sufferer and started having them again. I now just use meditation music and it soothes me. Hope this helps.
