Gimm and all,

The nicotine monster, like the devil, is a devious creature. It's greatest trick is to persaude you that it is harmless, your friend and you crutch. This could not be further from the truth. Be vigilant, Beware. Don't be duped.

Scruffy.

Maybe it was a bit too early to go without the NRT. I thought about giving up the patches around 30 days and did not trust myself enough to do it. I went for almost 9 weeks and finally realized I can do without... But, let me tell you a secret... I still have a patch in my purse/pocket every day... just in case... lol
You are doing what feels right for you. As long as that means keeping the quit, you are doing great.

Gimm, what have you been doing to cope with the cravings? Do you have a system in place?

Great, Gimm. I didn't notice much in the way of withdrawals when I went off of NRT either. I think we were already withdrawing when we were using the NRT. I used the gum and within a few weeks was only chewing 1-3 pieces a day. I started off chewing about 14-16. So yeah, it wasn't too difficult to give up those last few pieces.
