Oh darn, I hate it when this happens to someone I like! First off, never feel like you've done something "wrong", because you haven't. You have just learned something about yourself, and you have also admitted that you are addicted to nicotine and that you can't just have one.
I know from experience that the next couple of days will be a little harder on you just BECAUSE you smoked for those few days; it's like "you did it before, you can/should do it again" but once you firmly say NO and mean it, the temptation will recede a bit more.
Now here's the thing. This is an addiction. It has no brain, it has no intelligence, it's not trying to outwit you. It's purely chemical reactions in the brain. So it's up to you to DECIDE that you know what's best for your brain, and CHOOSE freedom, CHOOSE to fight the addiction rather than fighting the quit. Remember, when we smoked we only thought about quitting, and now you have! So take our hands, we will help you through this. Post here and wait for 10 replies before you smoke; if you are out with others, you will have to tell yourself to postpone the smoke UNTIL you can post and 10 people reply. OK?
Hugs, Denise
