I thought Pamela was asking if it was okay for the heart to beat at 200 bpm for two weeks straight. I remember once my doctor telling me the same thing.
Pamela,
Please follow up with a continous fast heart rate with your doctor.
Every one is different and certain things work for people different ways.
Although I have never heard of ice on your body decreasing your heart rate as a treatment, it seems to work somehow for ck.
Your bodys natural reaction to stress/anxiety is to increase heart rate, blood pressure and respirations to allow for 'fight or flight'
When your temperature in increased from fever-illness your heart rate will naturally increase to help fight the fever.
There may be some sort of connection with the 'icecube'trick, but It would be wise to follow up with any persistant symptom with you doctor and follow her/his advice.
Hope this helps,
Angela

My aunt had told me a few years ago that she used ice when her heart would beat fast. I remembered that and tried it. At first, I really didn't think it was the ice; but I have used ice several times since then and it does work for me. Hope it works for you too.
How did you discover this by coincidence? I'm going to give it a try even though my heart rate actually doesn't go up and when I take my pulse its quite low anyways but I feel like its racing. Thanks for the tip.
Yes, it does bring my heart rate down. At first I thought it was just a coincidence, but after using ice many times, I realize it does work. I have experienced the fast heart rate when at work and at night when I get into bed. When I get an ice cube and wrap it in a napkin, and rub it on my face, neck and chest, my heart rate does go down.
