Well, encouragement I have no problem providing. I definitely think it is to your benefit to find a peaceful work situation! If you have managed to put up with the hospital job for so long I would imagine you have alot of will power, self-control, etc. so getting out there to find a new job should be a snap. Just focus on how good you will feel out of that environment. Not sure what to recommend as far as other fields. Like I said before I think your skills would be in demand in any business, especially as you had mentioned that you are good at your job. If you have an alternative book store or yoga center where you live you could always advertise for work there. Those places always have community boards where you can place notices. Or you could copy down the names of a few practioners and send off your resume. That's the best I can think of at this point. Hope it helps. Rachele

I am looking for suggestions for other fields to work in besides a hospital situation. I'd acutally like to work for an alternative health care practioner, but I'm not sure how to market my skills. I guess I'm just looking for a little advice and encouragement. Sorry for the confusion. Sarah

Sarah, I'm not sure I understand the question? Are you asking what type of work to do other that admin. asst? Or, what field other than hospital work? As an admin. asst. I would think that you are in demand in any business, no? Rachele

Hello all, I'm hoping that I can solicit your help. As I've said in previous postings, I am off on a medical leave from work because my panic is at an all time high and my work environment is making it worse. I am an administrative assistant and primarily work with women. Women who love to gossip, socialize and basically slack off. That's now how I do things (I'm very focused and driven) and it's made me a pariah. In any case, over the last four weeks, I've realized that I've got to make a career change. I'm currently working in a hospital and it's just to much negativity and death. I have over 11 years experience, so I really know what I'm doing and I'm an excellent administrative assistant (might as well toot my own horn). I have started my own e-based business (www.girlfridayink.ca) offering administrative services, but it's not making sufficient money for it to be my sole source of income right now. In the meantime, I need to start thinking about alternatives for a job until my business is turning a profit. My husband and I do need to pay the mortgage, after all. Does anyone have any suggestions where I might make a move to that won't make my panic blow up in my face? In addition to being a person with anxiety, I am also highly sensitive, but very creative. I do have a long time to think about it, as my leave is indefinite, but a little help would be great. Thanks so much, Sarah :)
