Sounds like you're ready, Phoenix. Sleeping is a good idea. Pamper yourself and reward yourself. Follow Rusty's suggestions...she knows Keep us posted, and please post HELP if you feel like you're going to cave. The most important thing is the desire to quit is stronger than the desire to smoke. Just don't have one single puff and you will do fine -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 174 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,960 Amount Saved: $1,183.20 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 8 Mins: 26 Seconds: 55

Good for you, Phoenix. So many people here say that preparation is very important. The forums will help you have a life-line to people who are going through or who have been through the same thing. A few other tips: Drink lots of water Watch your caffeine intake Eat something every few hours to keep your blood sugar up Take a walk or clean the bathroom if you start getting the heebie-jeebies Get rid of all your smoking paraphernalia. And you're right...be gentle with yourself. Place some great music, search for inspirational materials to read. You can do this! Thank you all for your kind support. Tomorrow morning is quit time. I am working thru the pgm on the site. I especially like the page 'Substituting the Need'. I'm going to go back tonite and reread the section on Withdrawal Symptoms, so I can prepare for 'hell week' - 15 minutes at a time. I will likely be posting to the Support Groups too. There's some fantastic support available here. Maybe I can empathize with other early quitters. I plan to use sleep as an aid in getting thru the first few days. That and gentle activity. I want to be kind to myself as I'm going thru the worst of withdrawal. Thanks for your support.
