Bold, This is normal and it will pass! Your body is continually healing and it may take some time. Your body and mind is also adjusting to the change in routine and habit. Keep a journal and take the time to find out if their was a trigger that set this craving off. Get those coping mechanisms out and keep busy. Most of all take the time to relax yourself and give your body the rest it needs :) Josie, Support Specialist

Mercy's right, boldinaz. There is a typical "rough spot" around the 30 day mark that lasts a few days. Some experience little, but some experience the first few days all over. I believe it has to do with monthly triggers (i.e., writing out the rent/mortgage check, paying monthly bills, balancing the checkbook, etc.). Over the years you have formed memory associations between certain activities and smoking. When you perform one of those activities it triggers the memory of smoking which triggers the desire for a cig. This is not necessarily a conscious process, btw. The "cure" is to perform the activity without smoking. This weakens the original memory link and also forms a new one of doing the activity smokefree. Sometimes only once is required, sometimes it may take a few times. Just know that it will eventually be "fixed". Major congrats on your first month of freedom. That is an awesome and wonderful accomplishment. Reward time!!! ;p ElderOne My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 822 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,440 Amount Saved: $3,896.28 Life Gained: Days: 149 Hrs: 23 Mins: 54 Seconds: 57

Absolutely! There is nothing wrong with you. It is common. Don't give into them. They seem to last about three days....and then they are gone. At that point your quit takes on a different dimension as long as you don't smoke. Hang in there. Hey guys i'm 27 days into my cold turkey quit, yet it seems like i'm on the first day still... The cravings havent been that bad the past few weeks until a few days ago then they hit really hard feeling like the 1st day on my quit. I was just wondering if most people have cravings that feel like the first 3 day type craves at about 3-4 weeks into your quit?
