My clothes don't fit!

for 17 år siden 0 591 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
You know, when I was going to WW, we had a meeting where we all brought in our cloths that we had "undergrown" and swapped! I got some great stuff that way. I don't know if you're anywhere that you could organise anything like that or not, but it's a thought. As soon as you have soemthing else to wear - even if it's just two or three outfits - you get rid of those fat cloths! If you keep them for "just in case" then you'll surely need them! That part of you is gone (literally) so let it go. And Congratulations! *hugs* I can't have just one candy bar - Not just because i'm diabetic, but it seems that when I have one bit of any refined sugar, then I crave it SO BAD for at least three days, and I end up blowing my entire diet. :( I was actually just thinking yesterday that the thought of having it in moderation just can't work for some folks, because for some of us, it's just like having that one puff of ciggerette. You know? The diet industry is so much like the smoking industry.. people are making money off of us whether we're fat or dieting, and it seems that the only way to be free of all the pressure they put on you is to just be as healthy as you can be, and forget the rest of it! Look around some time when you go into the supermarket, or the convenience store - They are peddaling that CRAP like crazy! They leave it around where you're going to get it as an impulse buy or in a weak moment, and it leaves some of with some very very difficult choices to make that really shouldn't be so difficult. They sure don't put big displays of kale out for you to run into at the cash register or at the end cap of each isle. LOL!! No money in good health and healthy choices, is there? My clothes don't fit either, BFS, but mine are too tight! I think I found that 15 pounds you lost. Oh well, I'm working on the diet and exercise, but at least I'm still proud to be smoke-free! That's worth the weight! Sorry your clothes won't fit, but isn't wonderful to get rid of those extra pounds. I find some nice things at garage sales cheap. Just a thought until you can save for other things. How is the swimming going? Hope you have been able to get back to it. Mercy, My key to weight loss is learning what I'm willing to live with and what I'm not willing to live without. If you go on a radical diet fit only for a rabbit (carrots, celery, lettuce, etc...), then you're not only going to have that hershey bar (or whatever it is you don't want to do without), but you're going to have TEN to make up for the ones you didn't have while on the diet! Last time I dieted, I decided that I couldn't live without my Mt. Dew. Now, before that time, I was drinking 3 or 4 20-oz Mt. Dews a day! So, I decided that I would have ONE 12-oz Mt. Dew a day. That was my splurge of the day. I felt like if I gave that up, then I'd surely cave. This time, I didn't plan to take it out of my diet... it just took itself out naturally. About 2 weeks ago, I thought about the fact that I hadn't had a Mt. Dew in about 2 weeks (or more) and decided I'd give myself one. I took 2 sips, realized that I didn't REALLY want or need it, and ended up wasting the rest of it. I realized that I CAN live without it afterall... but I didn't deny myself my Mt. Dew... I just sort of let it fall out of my diet naturally and replaced it with healthier drinks. This time, my splurge is cheese and olives (not necessarily together). In my salads, soups, sandwiches, etc... I allow myself to have a moderate amount of olives and/or cheese, even though both of these are high fat/high calorie. I find that I actually lose MORE weight than I would if I took them completely out because I don't feel like I'm denying myself. The key to dieting is NOT feeling like you "can't" have something you want. Otherwise, you'll rebel against yourself and end up going overboard. So, the key is moderation. Can you have a Hershey's bar every once in a while? Sure. Can you have one every day? Probably not a good idea. But don't deny yourself them. Find healthy alternatives for your hershey's bars and allow yourself to have one every once in a while. Otherwise, the diet won't last and you'll be back up to your old caloric intake (or higher) in no time at all. So, enjoy your Hershey's... and maybe you'll find after a while, that you really DON'T want them as much afterall. Crave the Quit! I have lost ten pounds. It's noticeable but not that noticeable. Some people will say "Have you lost some weight?" Still and all it's a big step to losing the 50 I gained with this quit. Wow...that must feel so great. Here I am on day two of not using my nicotine gum and eating 1200 calories. I guess yout method of losing that weight didn't include Hershey Bars? Just hoping... ;) I mean it....giving up my chocolate is worse than the cigarette battle. mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 178 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,560 Amount Saved: $795.66 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 9 Mins: 50 Seconds: 29

BFS, We did tell you that it would happen :) Save some money and go shopping, a little every week and then go buy some clothes that fit you. You may also sew your clothes a little smaller ( I am not that handy) for the time being! This is great and you should be proud!! Josie, Support Specialist
