Is there no end?

Lydia, that feeling of too much coffee is something that I have had many times - Prosac, Zoloft and Paxil do this to me, so if you are taking any medication, it might be that. Also, I have cut coffee and acidic wines out of my diet (many California wines are too acidic for me) and that, beleive it or not, helps a lot. Also, I take Tagamet (over the counter) to counter act the acid. Does this help at all?

OK now GAD does that mean generalized anxiety disorder. SO now I am not having fullblown attacks but this anxious feeling that comes on usually like when you have too much coffee but then days go by and I do not have it.

I was doing quite well too for about six weeks and then had a full blown panic attack. But this week has been o.k., just depressed from time to time. In answer to your question, I don't believe there is an end to our problems until we die....there will always be something, so maybe how we deal with what comes along is more important than what is happening inside us??? Dealing with GAD the best way you can sounds good, I am dealing with it with meds.; and keep telling us how you are feeling, and I will do the same for you...how about that? That is what support is all about? I got another letter from Patch Adams; (doctor who specialises in people like us who was one of us), and he says that, "it's hard when you're feeling sad to change suddenly", but that he acted from a pattern of words such as "I do this so that this will happen"...anotherwords I think what he meant was he decided to act so that a particular result would occur as apposed to just feeling (blue, anxious, etc. etc.). Perhaps our types tend to live our lives based more on our feelings instead of thinking out particular outcomes of actual actions. He also suggested thinking of painting our dreams in whatever way we can. If we can think as a child thinks for our own futures, dig back to our dreams and come up with what we really wanted our dream reality to look like, it might help us along the road to happiness, lack of anxiety etc. What are your dreams for the future?

Hi rhondaro. I know how you feel (going through it myself). I think we can do a lot about it. Of course, the help of the doctor means a lot, but not more than self-help. I guess I've been through that phase you're talking about, just simply being mad at everyone and everything and not seing the end, just as you said, and it all just made me feel worse, made me feel more depressed etc... Once I asked my psychiatrist if the anxiety is ever going to end..completely, and she said it wasn't. I guess that was the moment I decided to fight it as hard as I can and I can see the results of it. If you're depressed than it makes it harder, it made it harder for me.. Now that I'm done with the depression it's much easier to cope with the anxiety itself. And the answer to your main question...I don't know. Maybe accepting it would help. Life is beautifull ;) :)

Hi Everyone haven't posted in a while but still reading posts. Just wondering how any of you are dealing with generalized anxiety. Haven't had a full blown attack in a while but the GAD is still strong. I'm doing the breathing and relaxation tapes and CBT but I'm still bothered by the GAD and have been every day since Oct. I'm much better but is there ever an end to this? Please respond as I still feel I'm going nuts even though I'm constantly reading that this is a normal feeling with anxiety.
