Kat- It is sooo annoying - I remember thinking/obsessing about smoking all day. I couldn't even walk down the street without thinking, "I'm walking down the street and not smoking". In fact, this is a quote from an old post I wrote: I've made it through my first weekend smoke-free - not an easy task! I'm taking Chantix, using my quit program tools, and doing everything I can think of to make it through one day at a time. But, I'm still thinking (obsessing) about smoking every single minute. When will this stop? Please have faith that it really really does get better. You will stop thinking about smoking 24/7 and the edginess goes away. I can tell you this first-hand! You've made it through the hardes part - Hell Week. So, don't give up on your quit - you've really got a great thing going! Keep posting - we're all together in this journey! Hi Kat! Congratulations on quitting! You have done well so far. You seem to know its the "Junkie" in you trying to convince you to smoke. And you probably know that if you smoke it'll just put you back whwere you were, square one. Try a glass of ice water, try sucking on a straw, I really find that one helpful. What are the things you thought of to help at these times? Take several long slow deep breaths, that also helps alot. For going cold turkey you have done so goo, don't give in now. Smoking is not an option anymore, NOPE. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 38 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 965 Amount Saved: $400.9 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 15 Mins: 52 Seconds: 40

Hi all, well i am on day ten and this past week has been good...nothing chaotic. it is just really the last few days that my thoughts have been increasingly turning to smoking...I really do want to be a non-smoker and this is the longest I have ever gone cold turkey, but my thoughts keep returning to smoking. I really hope that I manage to pull away from these thoughts before they grow into something more. Feeling just a bit edgy for some reason-- it has been long enough that I am through withdrawl, so I know this is all in my head. Thanks for the support. kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 192 Amount Saved: $45 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 15 Mins: 30 Seconds: 41
