You can do it. Quit thinking about it! Find something to do...it'll pass. I getting ready to start my 1st week and although I know all of this is coming up, I'm still not ready for it. Just remember, SMOKING IS DISGUSTING AND IT'S KILLING YOU! Good luck! 2tone My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: -3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

I really thought that by today the craving would not be so bad. I've been using Commit Lozengers. Maybe that's it? I want one so bad it hurts then again I don't. God! I hope this is over soon!!! Little Sam, I know sometimes it's hard, and we feel weak. But you are stronger than you think. The addiction is trying to manipulate you and trick you into thinking you can't handle this quit...but your not alone, and because of that you can pull strength from fellow quitter's and the words of other quitters in the SSC. We have all had those moments (sometimes days in a row) of blahs, and cravings and weakness and sadness and overall frustration. Remember, your quitting for life, and again, your not alone!! Review your coping mechanisms to the cravings and the boredom. Also, remind yourself why it is you want to quit smoking. Then take it one hour, one day at a time and keep posting. Your doing great and almost through hell week. Let's make it to tomorrow and deal with tomorrow when it comes. We are here for you!!! Little Sam, little buddy, here's the deal: we're never "there." Worst thing is that milestones will kill us. I was in the gym today, running farther than I had ever run in my life, thinking, "If I ever want to put a cigarrete in my mouth ever again in my life I should be shot," and then, at dinner with spouse, trying to plan the Christmas stuff, I get totally stressed and long for a Marlboro or Camel. Never goes away, but our resolve gets stronger every day. We learn to trust the resolve and to blow off the sick urges. peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 53 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,694 Amount Saved: $291.5 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 10 Mins: 18 Seconds: 25

Hi Little Sam - You are doing well...but it takes a little longer than 6 days. It's time to take care of yourself, distract yourself and use all the tools you have to hold on! You can do this! Six days is terrific! You will experience cravings for quite awhile. Smoking has become a lifestyle for you and it will take awhile for you to come to know your new lifestyle without the smokes! Find distractions to pull you through the rough times. it really isn't YOU that want the smoke....it's the junky in you. You are an addict....and this is what it's like to suffer withdrawal from nicotine. Start a quit journal....it will help you to see that things DO begin to get better......and might I suggest that you get a reward program in place....rewards can be costly or free....they are things that you do for YOU....cause YOU deserve it....and the reason you get the rewards is cause you say NO to lighting up. Keep right on kickin' butt.....withdrawal ends....lung cancer doesn't Katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1813 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 72,540 Amount Saved: $10334.1 Life Gained: Days: 236 Hrs: 13 Mins: 9 Seconds: 56

Little Sam, You need to distract yourself. You have passed 6 days and this is commendable! Use avoidance techniques and relax yourself to take the edge off! You can do this, keep pushing foreword :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
