DOES ANYONE HAVE ADVISE?

Thanks Trish... Unfortunately, I had already tried going on short term leave but my insurance benefits didn't feel that I was ill enough to pay me benefits.. I only have my income to support myself and live from pay to pay so unfortuntely this isn't an option. Just had a doctors appointment today and I've been prescibed Ativan & Effexor. I'm a bit skeptical about them though.. The side effects are the same as my other meds.. I've also asked about a support group.. I'm told it may be months before I get a call from the hospital which runs it. I'm kinda loosing faith in the medical field..

Its a no win situation trying to hide it, it only aggravates it more. I held a high position with a company also, tried my best to hide it, made matters worse. Finally on advice of my doctor, I took a short term medical leave (no different than a woman taking off for maternity leave), until my medicine was adjusted, I was put on something in the line of klonopin, and yes at first it impairs you, as in drowsiness, perhaps you need to take some time off, to get adjusted to the medicine at a manageable level, then return to work. That is what I did.

Hello... I'm hoping to try this out to see if anything will help. I've been constantly having panic attacks in the last 2 years. Looking at some of the symptoms, I think I may have had them before that but they seemed much milder then they are now. I have 6 siblings of which 3 have also been diagnosed with having had panic attack and/or depression. What do you do when you're a single 35 yr old career woman who has only herself to pay the bills yet has to live with the hassle of constant panic attacks. I can't take the clonazopam prescribed for me since it impairs me and I can't have that at work or driving home)..(can't take the Paxil prescribed for me as it make me ill).. I don't have the.. for lack of a better word.. "luxury" of being able to stay home from work or leave work due to the intense symptoms of some of these attacks. I've even gone to the Emergency with the thought that I was having a heart attack! I'm a career person and have to try to "hide" my symptoms from my co-workers for fear they may find that I'm crazy. I've actually almost lost my job over this disorder. Seems that some businesses do not enjoy employing people who cannot keep it together. The problem seems to be that keeping everything inside causes more of the attacks. I was hoping for some helpful advice if anyone has any!! Anything at this point would be appreciated.
