Way to go Bonny. Am so glad you got things sorted with your Hubby. I find exercise an excellent way to release a lot of tension. You are doing really well - see you at the Cliff Top Cafe :P PrincessC :) x

Hello Bonny, Waar kom jij vandaan??? I'm glad you didn't smoke. You will gain a little weight but after a few months your metabolism will be back to normal. It's your quit and not your husbands. Does he smoke? Just tell him to be a support to you and not a pain in the you know where. Go on with your quit and be proud of yourself. I understand that you are upset right now and that is a normal reaction. But Bonny....smoking will not solve anything. You will not loose weight. Maybe I have a tip for you, when I quitted I drank so much water that it came out off my ears. The good thing was: I didn't crave and I didn't gain a lot of weight. Maybe that helps for you. I hope you can deal with all you're going through. Love from The Netherlands. Fini. Bonny, Was wondering how you were doing. So glad to hear that you were able to talk it over with your husband and that he now understands. A new bike, munching apples, a sweet-smelling workplace and an appreciative co-worker? Aren't you proud of yourself now, and glad you hung tough and maintained your quit? Congrats! Oh, Bonny... I know what you mean and what you are feeling. Sometimes it's astounding what comes out of other people's mouths, and how insensitive they can be, don't you agree? Hard not to say in return, "Hey, Adonis! What's it like to be perfect?" isn't it? ;p Seriously, you ARE doing the right thing. You already have a serious health problem that is not made better by smoking. You're trying to address that by quitting. Once smoke-free, no doubt you'll be able to be exercise more which will help you address your weight concerns. Once smoke-free and svelte, you'll be free to address booting your husband to the curb. :eg: I know it's hard, but just take one thing at a time, one day at a time, Bonny, with lots of deep breaths and visits to this site in between. And, if you can, try and talk to your hubby about what you are trying to do and why comments like the one he made isn't helpful to getting what either of you would like. Keep your chin up, and come here as often as you need... hang in there Bonnie and don't worry about the weight gain--- i think you'll find once you go back to exercising regularly the workouts will be a lot more fulfilling because you can actually breathe and challenge yourself physically. that's what i've found. good luck! tim My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 81 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,223 Amount Saved: $643.95 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 16 Mins: 17 Seconds: 27

Bonny, You were right to come here instead of picking up a cigarette. Good job! Focus on the benefits of your quit and maintaining it. This is your quit and you need to keep the focus on you! Many members have found it helpful to journal. In it you can include nasty letters to the people who hurt you or stress you out. Do something to calm yourself and bring the stress levels down... a long bath perhaps? Lastly, reward yourself for dealing with this situation without a cigarette! Many members gain a little weight and it does come off! Ignore the peanut gallery, they'll eat their words when you smell & look fabulous! Keep up the great quit, we are so proud to see you strong at 11 days! Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Bonny, one thing at a time sweet lady. You are trying to fight a nasty addiction. We all have put on a little extra weight. We will work on that when we have problem number 1 taken care of. Exercise is good, but you are in the first 2 weeks, THAT's TOUGH! Stay strong and don't let anyone stomp on your determination. You are doing a wonderful thing for yourself. Be proud and hang in there! It's great to see you here.
