Hi Dorothy and Welcome! I quit "Cold Turkey" and I dreamed a lot during the first 3-4 months of my quit. I know it's very common and some of the quitters using patches had night-mares when they used the patch at nights. I used to say that my night-life were much more interesting than my day-life! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 237 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,565 Amount Saved: $1066.5 Life Gained: Days: 27 Hrs: 17 Mins: 45 Seconds: 32

I have had very active and strange dreams since quitting. I'm not taking any NRT. Has anyone else experienced this? They really have not had anything to do with smoking...also not really nightmares, just active. I wake up feeling like I've been running all night! Thanks for the feedback and encouragement...Dorothy My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/9/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 170 Amount Saved: $30 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 47 Seconds: 15

Dorothy, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but since you quit you are getting loads more oxygen to your body/brain. Couple this with your brain having to heal after the all those years of nicotine poisoning and you have a great recipe for lots of brain activity! It will literally take months for your body to detox. As each day passes you are getting better and better. Never forget you are breaking a horrible addiction. Give yourself time. Best wishes. Dorothy, This is normal as your body is ridding itself of the toxins and trying to heal itself. Take the time to relax before bed and ease into sleep. This should help you start the day fresh and your dreams will subside :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
