I love your fat a*** too! *sniffles* That is the sweetest thing i've ever seen anyone say to anyone ever!! I meen that! English - i'm working towards a more natural and healthy eating style myself that is shooting to eliminate overly processed/frozen/fast foods, and for me to pay more attention to what I am putting in my mouth!! I'm doing it in baby steps and setting up routines.. I posted a little about it in the bless your heart thread. Wanna start walking with me in the morning? Set your timer for 7 minutes, and when it goes off, turn around and come back and have a bottle of water. If we start small and work up, instead of starting with trying to run a marathon - we'll have a better shot at developing life-long healthy habbits. Brentw1, Wow! You're doing well! Congratulations! A few tips... * Eat slowly = eat less because your stomach has time to fill up and tell you it's full * Plan out your meals * Lose weight slowly, so it stays off once off the diet * Be creative, take your current meals and modify them slightly to be healthier, less calories... or try a new recipe. Hope this helps. Keep up the great progress. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Update after 3 weeks..... Down from 196lbs to 189lbs and hungry but coping! Target is still 176lbs. Recording everything that I eat and working out the calories, its the only way. Not particularly avoiding any foods, just being aware of the calorie count and the need for extra exercise. Hi folks, the time has come to shed the weight gain. I'm 20 lbs too heavy and have come to the conclusion that the time has come to stop eating all the pies! Searching on the net for the miracle diet/pill/suppliment/method, I have reached the conclusion that the only way to succeed is simply to eat less than I burn and lose 1 to 2lbs a week if I can. It also seems to be importnat to not miss meals and to eat small but frequently. I have therefore got a pair of scales out, a book on calorie values and a magnifying glass to read the small print on the packs. It is horrifying me when I realise just how much rubbish and fat we eat. I will post and bore you all with my progress from time to time and would welcome any suggestions on how to make bran flakes taste like a Big Mac...............cos I aint going to be eating one of those for a while! Mad Englishman at 196lbs! Target weight 176lbs! Wow, you look great! Good on you! Fabulous job. My attempts are showing slow but steady rewards. I'm not necessarily avoiding anything either but most of the time I do try to get as much nutrition-bang for my calorie-buck as I possibly can. Oh, and a reward policy is helpful, too... Keep your chins up, my friend, and eventually we'll only have one again! mc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/31/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 365 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,479 Amount Saved: $1460 Life Gained: Days: 35 Hrs: 13 Mins: 0 Seconds: 15

BrentW- Good on you for taking on Weight Loss so soon after quitting. You are clearly the type-A personality. I'm sorry I don't have any diet revelations for you. I have just been grazing like a ferocious rabbit on a feeding frenzy, trying desperately to get in my 5 servings a day of fruits & vegetables and avoiding the high-fat, high-sugar stuff that my thinner &/or unconcerned co-workers & family ingest. Most days I feel better about it but I'm realizing that I have reached the age where I can no longer drop a size merely by not eating for one day... Ah, youth: It truly is wasted on the young (and thin.) Keep us posted. Your stories are oh so entertaining. Cold Turkeys are pleasantly plump these days...(Thanksgiving pun intended.) mc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/31/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 349 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,239 Amount Saved: $1396 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 23 Mins: 44 Seconds: 7

Blast! I missed you! Both of ya! (I simply must do something about my incredibly bad timing. Is there a workbook for that?) Oh, but don't smoke, okay? It's bad for you. mc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/31/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 349 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,241 Amount Saved: $1396 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 23 Mins: 55 Seconds: 47
