Day 5 and doing ok

Good for you Eggogo (LOVE that name!!). The first week is weird to say the least. But if you look at it for what it is, it's not that bad. I just made up my mind that I'd not smoke, not melt down and not crave (much . . . ha, ha!). You just get through it. Hang in there kiddo as Heck Week isn't nearly as bad. Plus there are long stretches of not even thinking about smoking in Heck Week (big surprise to me!). Using all the tools at left (especially that forcing a positive thought/image in when a negative one surfaces) helps mucho much. 5 Days is just great - keep in touch. Hearing about you succeeding helps me to succeed. eggogo The first fews days are the most difficult. Stay with it; you are doing just fine. Go to bed early, drink water, and say NOPE over and over again. One giant step for you! WAY TO GO!! You deserve to be smoke free, and try to rmemeber your infinite worth when you think it would be so easy to start again. 5 days is fantastic.. the nicotine is out of your system now, and the craves WILL get better!! Your body is healing now. How are you rewarding yourself for 5 days? Eggogo, Challenging your thoughts is a great coping mechanism! What will you do if it doesn't? Better to devise an alternative now then when your are craving. Are you rewarding yourself? Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Eggogo! Two more days and hell week will be behind you! None of us are so far ahead that we dont remember what that week felt like or how hard it is, but I promise it does get better! Nope is a powerful tool, just keep saying it for as long as it takes. You can do this - we are all here to support you. Stay close, stay posting, stay strong! This is day 5 without smoking and so far so good. It was hard last night but I made it through and so far today is good. It's just so damned easy to start again and I'm hoping this time I'll make it. I keep saying NOPE in my head when a craving comes up and it works.
