cyberduke, Great motivation. Whatever works, keep up the great work. Not only are you staying quit, but you are also pumping the muscles. :) Stay strong, Melanie ____________________ The SSC Support Team

My hair is very long and I buy this great smelling shampoo. So when I get the urge, I find myself twirling my hair and occassionally I will smell it. I am reminded how great my hair smells!! I am ashamed of how I smelled for 22 years :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 70 Amount Saved: $16 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 18 Mins: 35 Seconds: 0

Hey cybrduke thanks for sharing that sounds like a much better idea than the sugar free candy I keep eating and my arms could use it too. Got any desk ideas for the thighs? That's were all this candy is going I know it. And your not old I'm only 5 years behind you and still think (or Act) like a kid just not as quickly.LOL Bubbles ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,387 Amount Saved: $314.58 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 14 Mins: 2 Seconds: 54

46! Hi, kid! :) Just joking, cybrduke. That is a great suggestion. I've killed a number of craves over the months on a treadmill. Congratulations on one month quit. That's fantastic! Great idea cybrduke! I bought a stress-ball on Tuesday and keep it in my bag for when craves hit...probably not as satisying, but easier to carry around!! Don't worry bogbott. Just stay on the quit and keep adding days to your life expectancy and you'll never get old! By the way - I am 46, but I really don't feel old. I'm still healthy and strong and this quit is going to help me stay that way for many many years to come.

When I quit, I got myself a 10 pound dumbbell and put it here in my office. When I feel an urge I pick it up and I curl it 10 or 15 times with each arm. More if I need to. The act of working my muscles seems to make the urge die quickly. I mentioned it to my doctor and he said it's endorphines being released because of the activity. He said endorphines stimulate the same pleasure center in the brain smoking used to, that's why the urge goes away. Plus my arms are starting to look damn good!!!! (For an old guy that is... I'm 46!)
