Wow quitter I've been hungry all day too...been eating and noshing on this and that throughout the day. The hunger is weird today. It could be the change of seasons....trying to pack in the last of the chilly rainy snackin' weather food before it really gets warm (depending where you live). Something must be in the air...hopefully it wont last. You guys made me laugh with your emergency food. I eat constantly - maybe that's why I am happy all the time (except for when I am feeling larger than life!). I eat Tons of almonds too, but I always loved them before I quit. They do act as a "filler" easy to eat while you work too! And of course, Red Hots (they need to make these sugar free!) I'm a up to a bag a day. Soon I will have to quit the Red Hots, my new addiction. LOL. Thanks for the tips...I didn't stop eating, but I was able to trim it down to a quesadilla and some wheat thins, instead of that roasted chicken. I'll try the almonds today, my stomach's already doing hunger flips. Hopefully this will pass in the three days that all of the other weirdness has abated. Thanks again! OK, I feel like I've been eating all day long, trying to calm this hunger monster in my belly. I've had all of my typical quell-the-hunger foods, and I'm still craving. I had breakfast, I tried the light snacks, it was like eating a peanut when you're hungry for peanut butter cheese cake. I tried fast food, a big fat meal (walked two and a half miles right after, but still), and I'm still hungry!!!! What's going on here, why do I feel like I'm starving! I need more FOOOOD! Somebody roast me a chicken and fry up some potatos baby, here I come! I haven't gained too much weight in this quit yet, about three pounds in my stomach and butt maybe, but this is my third week off the patch and I bet it's about to hit if I'm not careful. But who can be careful when all I can think about is food? It's like when I was craving a cigarette all day. I'm just hungry! OK, that's enough. Help? ME TOO! I on the other hand have already gained the 5-6 pounds and haven't even been quit 3 weeks. Good thing I'm tall. Still though, I am finding it difficult to fit into some of my jeans. Pooh! Think I'll head out to buy some carrots. Still, I'd rather have carry some extra weight than be smoking! I'm only posting this to make all you weight worriers feel better. I see a lot of newbies very worried about their new appetites. I have now been quit over 6 months and I have gained 40 lbs. I know that part does not make you feel good... but even though I'm way overweight I have never felt better. The point I want to make is that many, many people lose their quit because they can't accept the weight gain. That's really just junky thinking!! My hunger has finally subsided and I have lost 5 LBs. in the last 2 weeks. My activity level is way up and I can now control my portions again. Quitting nicotine was much more difficult than diet and excercise. It was so hard that I couldn't do both at the same time. I'm now eating 1400 calories a day and doing 40 minute walks 5 days a week and the weight is comming back off as fast as I gained it and I'm active and DON'T SMOKE!!! Don't worry about the weight until you are really comfortable with your quit... If you are strong enough to beat nic addiction, you will have no problem controlling your diet.
