As Pitstop says its a new week. b- toast/olive oil s- dried apples, pecans l- small amount of eggplant lasagna d- will be a salad with chicken Exercise will have to be more cleaning out of closets, etc. so my son will have somewhere to stow his gear. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADY!!! I made you a HUGE cake - it's on the stats page happy birthday post that RDMan posted. Pitstop: Its been nasty here for the past 2 days weird weather for this time of year. Im in NC where are you?

Hi All, Busy week, but Ive been eating well and got a bit of exercise in. Turned my ankle, so had to forgo Tai Chi this week. Cheryl, Yard work makes me tired just thinking about it. You can come do mine, too. :p Nikki, chocolate is my downfall. Lady and I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate ice cream. Weve turned to virtual ice cream while we lose weight. Yesterday: b- cottage cheese/flax, toast/olive oil s- dried apples, almonds l- too busy (daughter to airport) s- cantaloupe d- gyro sandwich Today: b- psyllium shake s- small piece of banana nut bread l- toast/peanut butter d no idea yet Daughter left yesterday for Texas for the DECA National competition miss her already, and she wont return til Wednesday. She made the preliminary group for National Merit Scholarship this week top 50,000 of 1.4 million (proud Mom here). Im spending the weekend cleaning out. My son will move home from college for the summer, and we need some space cleared out for his STUFF. Taking a break soon to go to an arts festival near here. Have a great smoke-free and junk-food-free weekend.

This is teacher appreciation week. Monday we were served homemade soups and every sort of bread/crackers imaginable. Tuesday it seemed that every child in the school sent me chocolate. Today the PTA served lunch and DESSERTS. Think of just about any food you enjoy it was there. I may never have to eat again. Plus, for some reason, my husband has decided to come home and grill almost every night. Im hoping that the PTA will give the school a treadmill on Friday, so that we can get rid of the weight weve put back on. (Lady, I'm sure glad our ice cream is virtual!) Daughter is flying home from Texas today. :)At some point this evening, I hope to at least walk a few miles. Hope you all are doing better at dieting this week than me. Have a good one.

Hi Pitstop, Yes, I'm an art teacher (part time/semi-retired). I love it - keeps you young - allows you to play with kids all day - and also allows you time to play with your own children. :) Rusty, you take all the fun out of going Mexican. :p

Hi All! Happy Friday. Ended up having Vietnamese last night for dinner. Had yellow pancakes (crepes with shrimp, pork, and sprouts). You wrap them in large lettuce leaves with mint and basil, etc. They are BEYOND good! b- cottage cheese/flax, toast/olive oil s- celery/hummus, almonds l- grilled cheese sandwich, Naked smoothie (those things are addictive) s- dried apple slices d- what I really want is fettuccine alfredo, but Im too lazy to fix it will probably have something exciting like a boiled egg LOL. Exercise: long walk with friend, PT exercises Trudy, you and Christine are still young in your quits. In the beginning, you need to eat something every couple of hours to keep your blood sugar up. Dried fruit, a few nuts, celery with cheese, a peach, a banana anything thats good for you, will help keep the hunger at bay and not cause you to pile on the calories. Drinking lots of water will help and most people feel better when they get some exercise everyday. I havent lost much, but I havent gained even 1 pound since I quit smoking. Its all because of cutting back on starchy foods, biscuits, and sweets and trying to exercise fairly often. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Healer, Naked has 0 fat, 140 calories and is 100% juice really good. Theyre rather expensive, but a great way to make sure my daughter gets enough fruit. She particularly likes the strawberry banana and berry blast. Im more taken with the PowerC. Go to Nakedjuice its a dot com. and has a store locator. We pick ours up at the health food store. Hurray for you Lady! This is definitely your year. Trudy, youll be fine. Worry about the quitting before you worry about your diet. If eating a chocolate snack keeps you from smoking cigarettes, go for it. I ate pretty much everything that wasnt nailed down for the first few weeks and chewed MANY straws (would have eaten those if possible). Sucked on so many lemon drops that my mouth was numb. Once you get use to the quit, dropping calories is much easier.

Hi All, Quick check in so that no one worries when Im not on for a few days. (I hate it when people just disappear.) My son had an accident Saturday night, ruptured his spleen and is in the hospital. Hes going to be fine, but I will not be on site for a few days. Take care, Hummy

Hi Christine, A treadmill for home would be great, but you can get an exercise CD to stick in when you do have an extra minute or 2. I believe the hardest thing about exercise for all of us is finding the time to do it. Ive been where you are. For years, the only exercise I had was running with the kids in the park, or walking to and from the car to go to work/chauffeur kids/go to the grocery and on and on. By evening, exercise was definitely not on the agenda. From experience, I know that even 15 minutes of exercise everyday will make a difference. Find that 15 minutes, eat the right snacks and healthy meals, drink plenty of water, and youll lose the weight. b- cottage cheese/flax, toast/olive oil s- celery/laughing cow cheese, almonds/pecans l- Naked well being smoothie (love that name LOL), green salad with all the fixins d- daughter had a rough day today, well probably go out BUT I WILL STILL BE GOOD. Exercise: Tai Chi and PT exercises - gotta start working on the upper body, Im going to have the strongest legs in the world. 11 months for me! I'm gonna be a thin, svelte non-smokin old lady! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/5/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 336 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 13,467 Amount Saved: $2184 Life Gained: Days: 43 Hrs: 15 Mins: 53 Seconds: 54
