Rissa, WOW, two weeks without smoking is a lot to be proud of. You are well on your way to a successful quit. Remember to celebrate and reward yourself. Take Care, Melanie _____________________ The SSC Support Team

You can do it Sheila! For me, running is more mental than physical. Once you get it in your head that you can do it, you will. Since I've quit I have worked out for double my usual workout, and have tried to run a few miles a day (slowly at first). Today I just wanted to see if I could do it and I pushed myself. I wouldn't suggest trying to run a lot if you are not a big exerciser though, cause you might hurt yourself :-). As a smoker I did work out regularly, even though it wasn't a very vigorous workout (like riding stationary bike-slow). Good luck though, I highly recommend running as a workout- the endorphin rush is great! Redrosie Thanks for the props, things are going great right now! I am very sorry to report that Dave is still very windy. He has always had this side effect, but it has definitely intensified due to quitting smoking and also recently eating lots of junk food. What can I say? He's a stinky one :-). I will pass along your concern to him though :-). Well...I am almost to two weeks without smoking...and today I ran farther and faster than I ever have. When I smoked and tried to run I could usually run/walk my way through about 2 miles at most. Today I ran 6 miles...nonstop. This is truly a milestone for me. I am getting healthy. Rissa Great job getting healthy! And thanks for posting the inspiration. I haven't gotten started with an exercise program yet, but sometimes I feel like I could get up and run a few miles. It was a boost to hear that great strides and results are possible after only two weeks. Keep up the great work Sheila My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 445 Amount Saved: $70 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 4 Mins: 39 Seconds: 30
