What to do with all the $$$

for 18 år siden 0 547 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Bryan, Great thread you've started here, was thinking of posting about the $$$ savings myself but now I'll just join in :) And way to go, joining a gym! Congrats on your stats!!! :) I've started building a DVD library, since my smokes cost me 6 bucks a pop at 4-5 pops per week, that's an EZ DVD 2x a week. I am doing only 1 a week though, and the $$ during the work week goes to a HUGE LATTE or CAPPACINO (I just can't get rid of my Caramel Machiatto addiction either :p Many Blessings, Eve C.A.R.E. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 89 Amount Saved: $33 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 22 Mins: 24 Seconds: 51

That's great! A gym...hmmm...I didn't do so well. My quitmeter says I've saved about $100, but I, uh, bought a $3,500 truck. Yup, a truck. It's a beautiful truck, though, like I've always wanted, and it replaces an unsafe and purple(!) Geo Tracker. I can go for safer drives when I wanna smoke, right? Oh, well. So I have to not smoke for 350 times 46 days to save all the money I spent on my reward...that's, uh, 16,100 days, or just over 44 years. I guess that means I'm pretty well quit for life, huh! Works for me. I started spending the money before I quit, or rather I started spending it when I quit in January and now I quit again and so on and so forth. One thing. I'm on the gum which is more expensive than cigs so I can't say I'm saving a lot of money. But the gum gets less and less all the time whereas the cigs get more and more all the time. Blah Blah. Bottom line is. I have been painting for a couple of years now. I've never had a lesson but my art sells pretty well. I decided to give myself some real art lessons. It's $100.00 a month, but I've been spending about $300.00 a month on cigs, so I still have plenty left over for gum.

Actually, it's 4.4 years, not 44 years that you have to make up for the truck... Good job, though...Enjoy your truck

I joined a gym with all the money I saved by Quiting! It sure seems like your body replaces nicotin with cellulite. Now I can go to the gym so I can Eat more! It sure beats sucking on a Filthy rotten stinking cigerette! Ca Ching !, anything is better than giving our hard earned $$ to govt. coffers... One thing tho... i know i have to exercise one way or another & i don't love it, but i go for a 20 min run 3 nights a week. It seems to work a treat & it aint so bad - in fact i've lost weight & it gets rid of work stress plus i get don't have to spend money on expensive gym membership. ;p After i Stopped smoking i was surprised at how our lifestyle can improve with the extra ex-cigarette $$, you actually get alot of bang for your buck ie, new clothes, shoes, better food & lotsa veges & fruit for snacks are amongst other things, a new car!, hehe. life is worth living, spend every cent of that cigarette savings & enjoy every moment of it - i shurely do. + it makes it all the drama worth while in the end ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 482 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 12,068 Amount Saved: $3133 Life Gained: Days: 69 Hrs: 3 Mins: 58 Seconds: 36

Not to be a downer, but I'm just trying to pay for all the bills that have gone up....electric, computer connection, gas. So, I am so glad I don't smoke just to pay for the things that have increased in price. :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 360 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,020 Amount Saved: $1800 Life Gained: Days: 49 Hrs: 1 Mins: 38 Seconds: 19
