Phunkybassist: It's great you have decided to grab onto the wagon again and quit. Hiding out and smoking has got to be one of the worst things. Feeling ashamed of smoking is what got a lot of people in here!!!! I did not experience the fog, but was a little slower to in understanding complex things ! :p Hope things cruise along well for you and remember-- Not One Puff Ever! Well, I fell of the wagon for a month or so, but I climbed back on today. So far, it's a little easier than the initial quit, probably because I was smoking much less in order to hide it from my family (nice, huh?). Why do we do the things we do for nicotine? Anyway, I've been nicotine free for about 17 hrs. now,and the worst symptom so far is feeling pretty foggy.

phunkybassist, The "foggy" feeling is quite normal and should pass in a few days. As far as why we do this to ourselves? We're addicts and our drug is the most addictive drug there is!!! That's why. No other reason than that. But I'm glad that you're finally breaking this addiction and are starting your new smoke free life! Way to go! Crave the Quit! Phunky, The important thing is that you are here and trying again :) Prepare yourself for those situations that will tempt you. Make a list of chores or duties that will occupy you and have coping mechanisms on hand at all times. Keep Strong, Josie ____________________ The SSC Support Team.
