Marijuana uses

Look for strains high in the terpene Limonene, studies have shown it has decreased symptoms of anxiety and depression in rats. You will also come across a study that this causes tumors in male rats, although true, this is due to a protein specific to the male rat and is not found in humans.

I was just looking around and went across this thread. I was diagnosed to have severe depression 3 years ago and tried almost everything out there that "could" help. The only medication that worked best for me is medical cannabis. I perfectly understand that it's not legal everywhere. At first I was doubtful so I started doing my own research and read articles about marijuana. I found out that each marijuana strain has different uses for different diseases.

Hi Everyone,

This post appears to be spam (we removed a referral URL from the post). However, we decided to not delete the post as we have a lot of people private messaging us about the use of cannabis to treat depression and anxiety. This probably has to do with the recent legalization of cannabis in Canada.

Here are some facts to consider:

  • If you live in a province or state where cannabis is legal, using it is your choice. However, be aware that there are many different ways of consuming cannabis, and some are safer than others.
  • Legal cannabis is much safer than black market. It’s verified for quality and labelled for THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) & CBD (cannabidiol). Illegal weed or cannabis products can't be trusted.
  • Please talk to your doctor, and if you agree that cannabis might help you treat your anxiety or depression, get a prescription.
  • You have to be really careful as some types of cannabis, or its overuse, can actually make anxiety or depression much worse.
  • It's best to avoid cannabis if your or your family has a history of psychosis or substance abuse disorder.
  • If you are a new user, or if you are using a new form of cannabis, remember: Start Low, Go Slow!
  • Of course, never drive after consuming cannabis.

We have an evidence-based quiz for cannabis called Check Your Cannabis, which was developed in partnership with researchers at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (http://www.camh.ca). It's antonymous and you can take it here: http://www.CheckYourCannabis.net).

We are also developing an educational text messaging program with the non-profit group Parent Action on Drugs - http://parentactionondrugs.org. When that program is live we'll post a link so you can try it out.

If you have have any questions or concerns, please feel free to post them as it's important for us to have conversations. If anyone wants links to helpful articles, or other web-based resources please let us know.

Oh - and we generally delete spam. Please contact us if you see spam in the community.

Best,

Trevor

Of the three parent strains, Sour Diesel has the most influence on the Three Kings with regards to its aroma. As soon as users break the nugs, the pungent smell of fuel mixed with the fresh scent of earth can fill the room. Some people may need to take a little bit of time before they become accustomed to its aroma. Once they do, then it is the type of scent that one keeps looking forward to even if it was not like that in the beginning.

For instance, overindulgence may cause some people to feel anxious or even paranoid. In essence, what is supposed to be a relaxing time is negated by such adverse effects. During the height of the cerebral buzz, a few people may also experience feeling a little dizzy. It does not cause any long-term harm though. Typically, any side effects are gone as soon as the effects of the strain begin to subside.
