Hello,

Welcome to the forums! Hang in there it can get better. You got great advice from Ashley and Goofy. I really do suggest you try the Panic Center. It help me a lot with my anxiety!

Thank you for your help, you know when you know in the back of your mind that the "symptoms" that you are feeling are related to pms, but then that little bug gets into you and then you think....well, maybe....  I know where this is stemming from, I just need to get it under control and in a healthy manner.  Being in this state just esclates the depression...it's amazing how it goes hand in hand, sadly.  Thank you again.

Hi my3boys,

Goofy gave some great advice.  Chart and journal your feelings and talk to your doctor about it.  If your doctor says everything is ok then try to remind yourself when you start to worry.  Perhaps, write down the pain or symptom that bothers you then beside that write down your doctors explanation.  Review these notes when you start to feel anxiety over your health.

I also suggest the you visit our sister site www.paniccenter.net.  The program and support group there would be a great help to you.  It will help you recognize your anxiety and challenge your irrational thoughts.  It will also help you identify your negative core beliefs and teach you steps on how to go about changing them.  In addition, there will be people in the support group who have similar problems with anxiety as you do; it would benefit you to discuss your thoughts with them.

my3boys,
I am not a doctor so therefore this is just what I do with those aches and pains that occur before my period.  I wait until after my period to act on them.  If they are still there and seem to be something that needs attention or questions answered by a doctor, then I schedule an appointment.  Of course, anything that occurs could be an emergency, so I cannot advise you what to do.
However, you might want to chart your feelings, your aches and pains and other symptoms you have (I do) and take them to the doctor.  It helps me to know what might be related to my period and what isn't.  The same problems seem to reoccur every month with me.   Do the same ones seem to reoccur with you every month?

I suffer from health anxiety and it especially escalates during the week before your period.  How do you learn to trust those aches and pains that you've always had, to only that, nothing more serious.  This being part of the "changing your thinking" habits.  It's hard, but it seems trusting what you think is ok.....
