Hello friends,
Well, I am home in Canada and I'm settling in for the long (6months) wait for my wife and her two boys to get their immigration papers. It's great to be home among family and friends. My spirits are very good thanks to the move and the anticipation of a new life here for me and my wife. And careers and study opportunities for her two boys. South Africa was depressing but incomparably beautiful. No more living in compounds surrounded by razor-wire and guards. No more will the boys be mugged (5 times in 2.5 years I was there!) for their cellphones.
It feels good to sit on a verandah here and look out across the fields and to watch the Canada geese gathering in their Vs to head South for the winter. And not to expect a BMW to screech to a halt and have three guys stick a pistol at my head demanding my cellphone and wallet.
I say hello especially to Wildcat, Dumpling, Lady and Gabs - hope you're all fine.
I'll be on the IM soon.
