Lady, Thank you this! for bringing it up... i wrestle with the decision to take time out for myself vs. keeping a commitment and when i choose myself i feel horribly guilty and ashamed. i can make myself physically ill at times just thinking about it, how i may have let someone down, negative thoughts GALORE! again, thanks for bringing it up... something i need to work on very much -twister

lady, It is ok to take some you time and relax yourself! You have to take care of you first before others and doing this step by step will assist in every day. Go to bed early and use some relaxation techniques to ease stress and ease you into sleep :) Josie, Support Specialist

We have only been to one practice. We are in a new location and in a new band. So I guess we need to go... I hate these feelings. I hate to be upset and in dispair. My life is perfect. I have everything I've always wanted and I don't know how to be happy. I've been crying all day. My eyes hurt.

I definitely experience something similar -- sometimes the only thing that seems to make me feel better is to *go ahead and skip* a band rehearsal, meeting, planned dinner out, etc. Feels very liberating. Do you have a good track record there, and can you allow yourself to miss an occasional one? That's what I do sometimes (and then the rest of the month or whatever is easier to handle too -- I can tell myself "You're already at your quota of excused absences, so this time you have to attend.") Maybe this is bad advice for you, sorry, but I just noticed that sometimes it REALLY makes me feel better to take a breather from all the commitments. Hope this helps.

Missing commitments are not something I do very often and I really have a hard time telling people no and stopping to take care of me when I need to. On Tuesday nights, we have band practice at church. I've had an awful day, I'm exhausted and I'm at the end of my rope and don't feel I can make it. However, at the same time, I feel I should follow through on commitments that I make. Any thoughts????
