I too have had problems with anger. I would describe it as agitation. I was always on the edge. I could get mad very easily. The agitation was always there. On most days I could control it but it was a major effort. My wife was great about knowing her way around my problem. She would just give me space when I seemed over the edge. Well, life shouldn't be composed of bad days and worse days dealing with the agitation. Add that to the depression that took over and I was a wreck. I couldn't handle anymore but I had the brains to see a Doctor about the problem. She put me on Prozac. That was great for the depression but did nothing for the anger. It also made me very sleepy. She switched me to Zoloft. That medication has been wonderful for me. I was relieved of the agitation which allowed me to slowly come out of the depression. I had the problem with the agitation since I went through puberty, I am now in my forties. It is nice to feel "nice" again.

When you have just changed meds you need time to adjust. My thought to you is about your waking up at 5:30 in the morning. That means whatever you are taking is not helping you sleep long enough, and your body needs the sleep it is not getting; therefore your nerves are not relaxed enough yet, and you are still having panic attacks, anger, or whatever. Sleep is really important. When I get enough, I always feel much better! Talk to the doc....

Hey... I have severe anger management issues. I believe they stem from my depression. First...where does your anger come from? What is it you are doing? Second...how often does this happen? Certainly check with your Dr. about the meds. Anger can be related to anxiety disorders(which I also have) and depression. Give the mads time. And give yourself time. See if the anger persists. I am always available for a chat if you need it. -Michael

Alright, Here is my story. I suffer from anxiety/depression. I have been on 40 mg of Celexa for about 4 years. About 2 months ago, I switched to the generic and went quickly downhill. I switched back to the regular about a week and a half ago. I have noticed slow, steady improvement. However, my mornings are always rough. I am usually a calm mellow person. I have been suffering a lot of depression due to the fact that my panic attacks had returned. Although, they seem to be getting better I am still having somewhat uncontrollable mood swings...mainly in the morning. I get very frustrated when I wake up in the morning that I don't feel back to normal. This morning I was feeling somewhat OK, but I still wake up at about 5:30 regardless of the time I go to bed. I managed to relax myself and drift somewhere between sleep and awakeness until 8 this morning. When I did get up, I felt this rush of anger. It felt uncontrollable and very scary because I am not usually like this. I took a pillow and hit it on the couch. I mangaged to calm down and get through this. Now, I'm worried......is the Celexa not working for me anymore..do I need to switch or up the dosage??? Or is it me getting over my depression and externalizing the anger I have been internalizing???? I don't feel angry now, in fact, i feel pretty calm.......BUT what happened to me????!!!! I know no one can no for sure, but any advice, related stories, support whatever will help!!! Becky
