What kind of "doctor"?

Alluren, Feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. Try researching free clinics in your area and make appointments here. Take your tests with you, so that the physician can make a better assessment about your situation. If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Our site is free, so browse around and keep posting. Our online support group is very knowledgeable and supportive. Josie

Hello to everyone. ^_^ Thanks to whoever built this site, what a great resource; you just made my day. Some background on me: I've been battling a whole score of potential mental issues since I was very young. Nothing officially diagnosed, but my list would be: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress, possibly Asperger's Syndrome, plus my friend who's a psychologist-in-training thinks I should be tested for schizophrenia 0_0 In other words, I have issues, which I am finally able to admit after being suicidal a few times. I'm thinking about seeking some kind of medical help, and everyone says "Talk to your doctor!" . . . what kind of doctor, specifically? I called a psychiatrist and the soonest anyone can get me in is 6 months from now, which is well after school starts (I'm a college student). Plus I have no way of paying for that, or any drugs or therapy, on my own, and I would never be brave enough to ask my parents. So basically, what now? I have no idea where to even start. Any advice is welcome and appreciated.
