Hi! I just finished reading your message and all I have to say is NO your not stupid. I can honestly say I know how you feel I experience anxiety at least once or twice a week and it's really scary. As for deprssion it has to be one of the most awful feelings to experience. Back in 2002 I was diagnosed with bi polar ,OCD and anxiety and I suffer on a regular basis. The only advice I have for you is get the help you need and your GP is the best solution. You've taken the first step in conquering this by asking for help. Stick to your guns and be proud of the decision you made to get help. Stay in touch. Tabbeycat

Hi "Twitch" Welcome to the group...I'm new too. My advise to you is to DEFINATELY go see your GP ( I take it stands for General Practioner?) Don't be shy at all. She's there to help you. And by your opening statement of you letter, I mean the smile and *waves* thing, that shows that you have a very pleasent and friendly side to you. The only thing that my be stupid, and I don't like to use that word, is not following up on you hunches. Hopefully the doctor will be able to help you in various ways. I believe that seeing a female will benifit in your situation too. The list you display states many problem with talking or relating to others. Well, the fact that your on this forum shows otherwise, doesn't it. So when you'r speaking,just pretend your typing, and say what you really feel. Your in a ripe young age, don't pass up the wonderful time of life your in. Go..see the doc...feel good about this step your taking...think good thoughts about the fact that there are people there to help...and God bless you.... :)

Ok first off all, Hi :-) *waves* I've been depressed for over 2 years now, and i have totally hit rock bottom, and wanting to seek help. I've finnally decided that today im going to book the appointment with a female GP today, but i'm scared that im going to back out, whenever i think about doing this, i just feel totally out of my own body :confuse: anyway i'm 17 years old, and i'm scared and very nervous about my visit to my GP, im unsure what to tell her so im going to show her my results from here (thank you so much!) im not sure what else she's going to ask me, (i hate being put on the spot) so can anyone else help me out thats gone for help before? anyway here are my results from the test, [b] She has reported a fear of public speaking. She: Reports of having excessive fear or avoidance of social or work situations because of a fear of embarrassment, humiliation, or judgment (evaluation). Reports of avoiding speaking in public for fear of embarrasment, humiliation, or judgement (evaluation). Reports that the above avoidance of public speaking results in moderate / medium interference in normal daily life. She has reported social anxiety in a number of social and performance situations.
