Exercise, yoga, meditation, colouring, crafts and reading are many of the ways I relax.

I don't get a lot of time for colouring, crafts and reading, but I do my best to get in some exercise, yoga or meditation ever day.

I sat down with one of my daughters adult coloring books (apparently they are the new thing to do) over the weekend, and I gotta say, it is super relaxing. I didn't have to think, I just kind of zoned out and enjoyed the quiet while I colored.

For me a big issue is that I'm depressed a lot, so anything that cheers me up helps me relax. For me that's playing video games, watching dumb (and I mean really dumb) movies and TV shows, reading and exercise when I'm not injured. Currently I'm healing from a bad back, so exercise has been happening as much although I've been doing yoga with my wife which helps some.

I have found any kind of crafting esp crocheting is a huge help in distracting, focusing and calming. Even thinking about getting back to a project is instantly calming.

I try to go lectures, since I like to learn, and listen to how others find passion in their lives. I also like to learn about my religion, and there are retreats and lectures about this too. In the last week I've gone to talks about cosmetic ingredients, GMO's, a cultural robot and heart anatomny. I do have a gym membership, but the exercise is mostly for keeping my body together, and not much fun as when I could participate in team sports...so it's really a "work"-out, since I have to make myself go. I've tried yoga but it's out of my range, and walking is to distress, and as close to cardio as I get. I might try city hiking with poles, as a change, since weight training is monotonous, although I wouldn't completely give it up.

I exercise, do yoga, crafts, knitting, colour, watch movies or TV, listen to guided meditations, have a nap, play with my fur-niece Madison......

I forgot to add hypnosis.

I am wondering what other people do for relaxation. Here is my list: yoga, trauma relief exercises, short walks (and long walks in Quebec), reading, writing, music, and photography. I also have my dog.
