Hey guys,
Well, I had my session on Monday. We didn't quite get into the hypnosis fully, but she had me do an exercise. When I get anxiety, I sometimes picture myself choking/passing out in the situation and this often triggers a panic attack.
With hypnosis, my therapist is trying to get me to react differently to those images. Instead of panicking when picturing myself choking/passing out, hypnosis will train me to feel relaxed. Anyway, we started doing an exercise that stimulates both the left and right side of my brain while picturing that image.
Its weird wild stuff - but I think its helpful. I will be away on vacation until mid January, so I will resume sessions then and keep you guys updated. Haven't had a panic attack since, though (but I only average like two a week lately, so I can't conclude anything at this point).
