Everyone offers great suggestions. Replacing negative with positive, exercise, deep breathing and leasure activities all can be very soothing. I found cooking a nice, healthy meal for loved ones and enjoying it outside was what was soothing for me this weekend.
A friend of mine who has passed on once said if you don't do anything before noon then you won't. Not always true for everyone but still a shower is a nice way to start the day.
And I am going to switch to decaf or tea when this can is done. Caffeine is starting to bother me.
Walking at the lake helps and so does making sure I get enough sleep..taking a long showers. Spending some time on leisure..reading, sewing, or just talking with someone online or in person or maybe just shutting my eyes and taking some long deep breaths and letting them out slowly..It all depends on how I am feeling with the depression when it gets to be a bit to much..I usually try to start the day with a nice shower..this seems to raise the spirits if they are down..
I do the exact same thing as Davit. Yoga, massage, etc. are all excellent relaxation techniques, but replacing negative with positive (CBT) is key in management and/or cure.
It is hard to do sometimes but when ever negative thoughts pop up I bury them with positive ones to help keep the negative ones out of memory. They become less accessible this way.
The rule of life-we cannot just sit aside in a corner because we have anxiety and depression. We have to take a stand;identify the positive in us & move ahead for next phase of life.I sit around 3 months alone & ideal after leaving my job.But I have to stand again for my life.
I nowdays practising yoga, pranayam, sudarshan kriya & exercises to maintain myself.I feel gud after early rise in morning;Going to joggers park for my betterment;Spending at least one hour for meditation & yoga.It really provides me a handful of positive energy to sustain myself against the negativity.
