Is anyone else's anxiety off the charts?

Thank you. I was also wondering if it is normal to have symptoms of derealization and depersonalization themselves throw someone into panic? It seems like that is exactly what happened to me tonight, and I became terrified. I thought that people experience this type of dissociation only during or following major anxiety or panic- so I'm just wondering if it could happen the other way around? Thank you.

Hi Maggie, This can be a common experience with symptoms of anxiety. Fellow members will be by to share their thoughts on this. You may want to use the online program offered here to assist with overcoming these thoughts in the same way that you would to address other feelings of panic and anxiety. Keep us posted as to how you are doing, Casey ____________________________________ The Panic Center Support Team

Does any one here experience such tremedous hypervigilance with their anxiety (total awarness, etc) to the point that it actually makes you feel like you are going crazy or may be paranoid? How do you deal with this symptom of anxiety? Please help...Thank you.

Hi, I don't know what's in Valium ( though I remember taking it for some issue i don't recall now many years ago) but on Saturday, when I forgot to take my alprazolam (Xanax, not called xanax where I live because I'm in South America) i had a humdinger of a panic attack. All the works. When I realized what had happened I took 0.5 mg and calmed down shortly, thought it did not help me sleep well, which it usually does.

Maggie, Very common among those with panic. You are not alone! Perhaps beginning a routine of relaxation would help? Even if it doesn't work the first few times, be patient. Give your body time to clue into the routine. Hopefully, it will understand that bedtime and the morning after are not times for anxiety. Hang in there! You're doing great. This is just a bump in the road. Danielle _______________________ The PC Support Team

Does anybody here ever wake up in a state of utter DOOM? It's not exactly a panic attack but it feels like you are stuck in one for hours and hours. Your anxiety becomes unbearable and you begin to feel extremely depressed. You try and challenge every scary thought, but you still feel like you are going to lose it? I just want to make sure I am not alone. On days like these I try and battle it all on my own for a few hours but lately land up taking an ativan a bit later on. Often I notice that if the night before I began feeling a bit weird and anxiety-ridden at bedtime, I go through the dooming and dreadful feelings upon awakening...Any words would be appreciated. Thank you. :8o:

Just a thought: You said you had a late lunch. I have sensitive blood sugars and I need to make sure I eat regularily. If I don't I get the shakes. I used to think it was anxiety and then I would get more anxious and we all know how that goes. Well when I realised i was shaking because I needed some protein I could stop than anxiety before it overwhelmed me. Also getting married is bound to make you more anxious than normal. Hang in there and embrace the times when you anxiety doesn't affect you.
