Friday Support Pledge

it was rough.  I managed to hang on but it was really hard.  Used all of my toolbox and pretty much spent the weekend here.  My blog gives more detail.  I just don't want to write about it.  Feeling really down and blah.  Partly I think it's a halloween candy hangover.  I hit the candy instead of the booze.  It wasn't worth it.  Yuck.  But, thanks for asking.  And thank you members for your words of wisdom, encouragement and support.  Thanks for being here.  Just being here.  It helps so very, very much.  Especially when I'm crabby & craving

m- while you may have felt that you weren't able to meet your pledge - the part where you said that you were available to help others was true.  You helped me.  To know that there is someone out there who shares some of the same struggles as me.... I can't put it into words how much that means to me right now.  Thank you.

Heard you loud and clear and I think it is definitely doable.  Please use this site if times get difficult this weekend.
 
One interesting way to delay or avoid that drink, is to post here and wait for a set amount of responses.  You can promise yourself that you will use that time to think about the reasons you have decided to change your habits with alcohol. 
 
Please use if you think it is helpful.

I am grabbing on right now! It is Friday and I did ask dh to bring home a bottle of wine and a pizza.  He came home with 6 bottles of wine and a bottle of whiskey! (serves me right for asking)  That's OK. It's going to be OK.  I can do this, but I will need help.  First step is to make a pledge today for the weekend and then use all my new tools and support here to keep it.  I pledge to remain aware and in control of my alcohol intake this weekend.
 
OK I've sat in front of my computer for half an hour asking myself what does that mean SPECIFICALLY, but I'm just not sure.  Since this is my first official Friday Support Pledge... maybe I could try this:
 
I pledge to use (to the best of my ability) all of the AHC tools and support this weekend in order to remain aware and in control of my drinking and also to be available to support other members.
 
Phew... that was tough... but it feels real.  It feels real.  Doable.
