Hi, Riverdale Man. Congratulations on 15 days quit! That is an awesome accomplishment. I just read through your posts and I must say I am truly impressed by your attitude. If everybody felt about their quits the way you do old Nic would be out of a job. Keep up the good quit and attitude, Phillip. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 285 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,718 Amount Saved: $1083 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 7 Mins: 25 Seconds: 27

I heard that, Jan! You better run!!! :eg: LOL ;p Riverdale Man, I'm still in awe of your attitude. It is absolutely fantastic. Sorry to hear you're having a rough day, but they happen and they pass. You're doing the right thing coming here and posting. I've found posting itself to be quite theraputic, even if it only makes sense to me. Your dentist will probably be quite happy and impressed that you've quit smoking. They see all the problems smoking causes in your mouth (stains, receding gums, oral cancer, etc). Give your pup a pet for me. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 287 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,750 Amount Saved: $1090.6 Life Gained: Days: 53 Hrs: 14 Mins: 22 Seconds: 27

Riverdale Man and Lady. Your thoughts are both so profound and well written. The honesty is inspiring. We are all addicts and, in the past feeding the addiction was the number one priority and the golden ticket. That reward was an end in itself and we did it X number of times a day for long periods of time. For me ,it was 40 years and ,at the end, 30 times a day. I have been quit for almost a year and still struggle with the mood ,depression issue. I think I have finally figured out that NOTHING will reward me 30 times a day. It is getting better but I know it will still take time. After getting past the denial that went with smoking ,I couldn't take the health risk. I also couldn't let myself and my family down. I will never be able to apologize enough to them for smoking all those years(I was a Mom and a nurse!) I love this site and the goodness and support of the people who come here. Congratulations on your 30 days, Phillip. Your quit has been awe-inspiring to watch. You are not afraid to look at the truth and bare your life right out there. And at the same time, your words of support for others are just amazing! My 30 day anniversary was huge for me. I printed out all the congratulatory posts and still look at them from time to time to remind myself of how far I've come. I rewarded myself with new walking shoes, socks and a pedometer. What's your reward? You deserve a good one!
